Thereare some towers that have a very specific path to climb them unless you have the climb leap glove, you probably just missed the hand holds. (Glove looks like ezio's normal leather glove but with metal plating on it.) You can unlock it about sequence 4 from leonardo. Im already at this point and havent had any problems climbing the towers.
Youneed to renovate it, which can't be done until you take out the near-by Borgia tower WHICH can't be done until you get to a specific memory sequence, I think either 6 or 7. Don't stress about it, the game essentially doesn't let you get that one until you play through the main story enough.
